WASHINGTON (PRWEB) MAY 01, 2023 – ZeroNow announced today that Oosto, a leader in facial recognition software, has joined the ZeroNow stakeholder alliance for safer schools.
Oosto’s touchless access control and video-based watchlist alerting technologies have been shown to avert an increasingly wide array of violent incidents on school campuses by facilitating a quick response. Oosto safety solutions include:
- Real-time facial recognition using existing cameras
- Person of interest monitoring
- Video analytics
- Limiting facility access to authorized students and staff
- Real-time watchlist alerting (e.g., identifying security threats, such as violent ex-students)
Oosto is a pioneer in reducing ethnic bias biometrics through ethical machine learning.
“We are pleased that Oosto is adding its voice to those of the ZeroNow stakeholders dedicated to making schools safer. Innovative solutions are pressingly needed to stop the snowballing incidents of violence in our schools,” said Ara Bagdasarian, ZeroNow CEO and Cofounder.
“Most schools leverage video surveillance cameras, but if someone is not watching that camera at that time, the cameras are practically worthless,” said Dean Nicolls, Oosto’s Chief Marketing Officer. “More and more schools are turning to facial recognition to better protect their students and staff by identifying persons of interest in real-time – enabling schools to quickly respond to potential threats and prevent incidents before they occur. Being part of the ZeroNow alliance will allow us to collaborate with peers in industry and education who are similarly dedicated to protecting schools.”
ZeroNow was founded by technology partners Additional, Axis Communications, Johnson Controls, Axon, and Omnilert, along with campus safety nonprofit partners the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA), NASPA (the Association of Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education), Campus Safety Magazine, and VTV Family Outreach Foundation.
