International awards program recognizes standout technology provider among the best and most innovative AI companies in the world
Oosto today announced that the company has been recognized as the “Best Facial Recognition System” for 2022 by the AI Breakthrough Awards competition. AI Breakthrough, a leading marketing intelligence organization that recognizes the top companies, technologies and products in the global Artificial Intelligence (AI) market, today announced the results of its fifth annual AI Breakthrough Awards program, showcasing technologies and companies that drive innovation and exemplify the best in artificial intelligence related technology solutions across the globe.
The AI Breakthrough Awards program is the premier awards and recognition platform founded to recognize artificial intelligence-related technology innovators in a variety of applications and use cases. With more than 2,950 nominations submitted this year, Oosto was awarded top honors in an increasingly crowded field of “breakthrough” AI-driven technologies that “address a true need, solve a complex or critical problem, or seize an opportunity and create or revolutionize a new market or industry.”
“We are sincerely honored to have been chosen for this distinction,” said Avi Golan, CEO of Oosto. “At a time of great disruption, vision AI technology continues to evolve at breakneck speeds in an effort to protect human life while helping to solve some of the most complex issues businesses, schools and governmental agencies face today. Cameras and the human eye can only do so much – Oosto’s vision AI leverages next-level technology to improve their physical security capabilities, including biometric-based access control and real-time watchlist alerting.”
The honor comes on the heels of the company’s recent innovations in leveraging edge and near-edge computing in order to enable low-power, high-resolution IP security cameras with facial recognition, person detection, and video analytics for both real-time alerting and forensic investigations. Oosto was able to optimize its state-of-the-art neural network models for low-power, near-edge devices without compromising on performance or recognition accuracy. This approach dramatically helps reduce the complexity, costs and heavy server processing typically associated with video analytics software implemented on surveillance cameras.
Golan continued: “I am particularly proud of our hardworking and talented teams around the globe who are committed to developing AI-based technologies that help make the world a safer place. As a company, Oosto is building software that is used as a force for good, and it is a privilege to see this in action with our clients every day – whether they’re a retailer combating organized crime rings in their stores, stadiums protecting large crowds from hooligans, organizations alerting law enforcement to active threats, controlling authorized access to sensitive areas within commercial buildings in a seamless and touchless experience, or helping operations run more smoothly at entertainment facilities – vision AI is discreetly enabling organizations to optimize their security operations.”
Oosto within the past year also announced a partnership with Carnegie Mellon University’s CyLab Biometric Research Center to focus on advanced object classification and behavior recognition algorithms.
Winners were judged on criteria including innovation, performance, ease of use and manageability, functionality, value, and impact.Other winners from this year’s competition include AMD, NetApp, Adobe, Verint, SoftBank Robotics, Qualcomm, Intuition Robotics, Verbit, Cobalt Robotics, Moveworks, H2O, and an impressive list of top companies and startups in the industry.
